A eyelet bolt is a special fastener characterized by a circular ring at one end of the bolt. This ring can be used as an attachment point for tethering materials such as rope, chain, or cable, or for suspending objects. This design makes the knuckle bolt useful in applications that require both fastening and suspension functions. Knuckle bolts are mostly manufactured from medium carbon steel or alloy steel. The medium carbon steel material provides good strength and toughness to withstand certain tensile, compressive and shear forces. Alloy steel, on the other hand, may be enhanced with special properties such as corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance or high temperature resistance, depending on the alloy composition. For example, alloy steel live bolts with chromium can resist oxidation and corrosion to a certain extent, and are suitable for harsher working environments.
