Round Nuts

A round nut is a fastener with a rounded outer contour that typically fits onto a shaft or rod to secure or adjust a rotating part. When a bolt passes through the part being joined and is fastened to the nut, the round nut prevents the joint from loosening due to external factors by applying pressure to the bolt. A round nut can also be used to adjust the tightness of a bolt and can be removed and installed repeatedly during use. It usually has slots or holes on one or both sides for the installation of an anti-loosening device, such as a stop washer, to prevent the round nut from loosening due to vibration or other causes during operation. The design of the round nut allows it to rotate freely on the shaft and lock in position by tightening. It also serves as an anti-theft device that can be used to prevent the bolt from being removed by unauthorized persons by purchasing a special security round nut. It is widely used in the axial positioning of spindles, screws and other components of machine tools. For example, at the rear end of the spindle of a lathe, the round nut is used to secure the inner ring of the bearing, preventing it from moving in the axial direction and ensuring the rotational accuracy of the spindle.
