General Leaf Springs

General leaf springs, also known as leaf springs or steel plate springs, are a kind of elastic element made of a number of elastic steel plates stacked on top of each other, and are widely used in automobile suspension systems, railroad vehicle vibration-damping systems and elevators. Universal leaf springs realize their function mainly on the basis of friction and interaction forces between superimposed elastic steel plates.
