A chemical anchor, also known as a resin anchor or chemical bolt, is a fastener that secures a screw into a substrate through a chemical adhesive. It usually consists of a screw, nut, spacer, and chemical agent that utilizes a chemical bonding agent to react chemically with the concrete substrate material to form a high-strength bonding layer that securely holds the anchor bolt in place. When installing chemical anchor bolts, holes are first drilled into the base material, and the diameter and depth of the holes should meet the installation requirements of chemical anchor bolts. Then the chemical anchor bolt is inserted into the drilled hole. During the insertion process, the chemical agent tube ruptures, and the chemical agent inside comes into full contact with the wall of the drilled hole as well as the surrounding base material. Due to the interaction between the epoxy resin and curing agent in the chemical, a curing reaction occurs within a certain period of time.
The advantages of chemical anchor bolts include high pull-out bearing capacity, easy installation and operation, no squeezing pressure on the substrate material, resistance to acid and alkali, low temperature, aging and weathering. The construction steps include drilling holes in the substrate, cleaning dust in the holes, injecting chemicals into the holes, inserting anchor bolts and waiting for the gel to cure. It is widely used in building reinforcement, equipment installation, curtain wall bracket fixing and other fields.
