1. Place the mold on a reference surface with a scale and place the probe on the opposite mold to check whether its top surface is parallel.
2. Check whether the top and bottom surfaces of the mold are parallel.
3. Check the pusher guide at the starting end to ensure that the blank is in a vertical position. If a long and heavy workpiece will tilt inward or outward; then a special pusher plate should be manufactured to solve such problems.
4. Check whether the pusher is retracted before starting to roll the teeth.
5. Check whether the mold is fully aligned. Press the first piece into the mold and rotate it half a turn and then reverse the machine to retract it. Use a magnifying glass to check whether the thread is accurately aligned.
6. Violent sandblasting in the lead-in area will cause slight folding at the thread heel. Slight metal movement will form folds. As a general rule of thumb, the mold should be sandblasted again after polishing, but be careful not to be too intense.
