Commonly used are R-type rivets, fan rivets, blind rivets (core rivets), tree rivets, semi-circular heads, flat heads, semi-hollow rivets, solid rivets, countersunk rivets, blind rivets, and hollow rivets. These usually use their own deformation to connect the riveted parts. Generally, cold rivets are used for those smaller than 8 mm, and hot rivets are used for those larger than this size. But there are exceptions, such as the nameplates on some locks, which are riveted using the interference between the rivet and the lock body hole.
R-type plastic rivets are also called expansion rivets, which consist of two parts: plastic sub-nail and mother buckle. It does not require the use of installation tools during installation. Place the mounting base in a smooth hole, then press the head. The specially designed foot expands and opens after being stressed, and is firmly locked to the surface to be installed. It is often used to connect plastic shells, lightweight panels, insulating materials, circuit boards, or any other thin, lightweight materials. It is beautiful, practical, and easy to use.
Fan rivets are specially designed for manual installation. They can be pulled through the holes of the panel or chassis. They are made of elastomeric materials with good toughness and can be quickly installed even in interference fit. The design is ingenious and has elastic functions. It is not easy to slide out after being pulled in with the corresponding aperture. Fan rivets are mainly used for fixing between fans, heat sinks and chips in electronic computer cases. They have anti-vibration and noise reduction.
Strike rivets are a new type of riveting fastener that is very convenient for riveting. Strike rivets can show their unique advantages in a relatively small space or in an environment where there is no rivet gun or a rivet gun cannot be used. Use a hammer or other tools to hit the nail core on one side to successfully rivet two or more connected parts. Strike rivets can be divided into flat round head strike rivets and countersunk strike rivets according to the shape of the nail cap brim. According to the different material combinations, they can be divided into all-aluminum strike rivets, aluminum-steel strike rivets, all-stainless steel strike rivets, steel-steel strike rivets, aluminum-stainless steel strike rivets, plastic strike rivets, etc. Unlike blind rivets, core-driving rivets do not require manual rivet guns or pneumatic rivet guns to rivet. They have better riveting and convenience and can be widely used in the riveting of various connected parts.
Plastic tree-shaped rivets are also called inverted tooth-shaped plastic rivets, and are also called Christmas tree-shaped plastic rivets. The good elasticity of the tooth-shaped sheet can be directly manually pressed and installed in the round hole of the interference fit. The tooth-shaped sheet can be adjusted and fixed according to the actual thickness size. The inverted tooth design makes this rivet firmly fixed to the installed surface after installation and is not easy to be pulled out. It is suitable for fixing between soft materials such as foam, wood, rubber, and car interiors. Plastic tree-shaped rivets have excellent insulation, fire resistance, non-magnetic, heat insulation, light weight, high temperature resistance, high strength, and corrosion resistance, and are widely used in various industrial fields.
The types of pull rivets can be roughly divided into open type, closed type, double drum type, and single drum type series. The following is a brief description of each model. Countersunk head core-driving rivets: for riveting of riveted parts that require a smooth and beautiful surface after riveting. Double-drum blind rivets: When riveting, the rivet core pulls the end of the rivet body into a double-drum shape, clamps the two structural parts to be riveted, and can reduce the pressure on the surface of the structural parts. Application: Mainly used for riveting various thin structural parts in various vehicles, ships, construction, machinery, electronics and other industries. Large brim blind rivets: Compared with ordinary blind rivets, the diameter of the aluminum cap of this rivet is significantly larger. When riveting with the connecting parts, this rivet has a larger contact area and a stronger supporting surface, which can enhance the torque strength and withstand higher radial tension. Applicable industries: Suitable for fastening soft, fragile surface materials and extra-large holes. The increased brim diameter has special protection applications for soft materials. Closed-type blind rivets: Designed to cover the mandrel head after riveting, it is very suitable for various applications with waterproof requirements. It has high shear force, vibration resistance, and high pressure resistance.
All-aluminum blind rivets. The rivet body is also made of high-quality aluminum wire. After riveting, it is beautiful and durable and will never rust. Compared with ordinary blind rivets, the rivet riveting strength is lower and it is suitable for connectors with relatively soft materials. Open stainless steel rivets: This rivet is a choice for high tensile requirements and corrosion resistance. Semi-circular head rivets are mainly used in riveting occasions with large lateral loads and are the most widely used. Flat cone head rivets are corrosion-resistant due to their large rivet heads. They are often used in riveting occasions with strong corrosion, such as hulls, boiler water tanks, etc.
