Butterfly nuts are fasteners with distinct shape features and practical value. They are named for their symmetrical double-wing structure at the top, which resembles a butterfly. The core structure of this nut consists of a body with internal threads and wing-shaped handles extending on both sides. It can be tightened or loosened simply by pinching the wings with fingers without the need for tools such as wrenches or screwdrivers. It is a commonly used part for achieving quick connections in fields such as machinery, electronics, and furniture.

Structure and working logic
The structural design of the butterfly nut centers on "manual convenience" : the body's threads and bolts work together to achieve connection, while the two wings serve as force application fulcrum points, generating torque through finger rotation. Its working principle is based on threaded transmission. When the two wings are subjected to force and rotate, the nut moves along the axial direction of the bolt, thereby fixing or loosening the component. This design breaks the traditional nut's reliance on tools and is particularly suitable for scenarios that require frequent disassembly and assembly, such as adjusting machine tool accessories and maintaining electronic equipment.

Type and material diversity
According to different materials, butterfly nuts are mainly divided into two types: metal and non-metal.
Metal materials: Butterfly nuts made of metals such as steel, stainless steel, and copper feature high strength and wear resistance, making them suitable for heavy-duty scenarios in mechanical manufacturing, construction, and other fields. For instance, stainless steel butterfly nuts, due to their strong corrosion resistance, are often used in damp or corrosive environments (such as ship equipment).
Non-metallic materials: Plastic butterfly nuts are light in weight and have good insulation. They are commonly used in electronic instruments (such as circuit board fixation) and furniture assembly (such as plastic connectors), which can not only reduce the weight of the equipment but also avoid the risk of electrical conduction.

Application scenarios and functional advantages
In the industrial field, butterfly nuts are widely used in mechanical components that require rapid adjustment, such as tension adjustment devices in textile machinery and Angle fixing parts for photography tripods. In daily life, scenarios such as furniture assembly (like detachable bookshelves and height-adjustable tables) and bathroom equipment installation also cannot do without it - the feature of being able to operate by hand without tools greatly lowers the usage threshold for ordinary users. In addition, its symmetrical butterfly-shaped appearance also has a certain degree of aesthetic appeal. In devices with appearance requirements (such as instrument panels), it can not only achieve functional connection but also enhance the product's texture.
